Arjun Erigaisi Qualifies for Sinquefield Cup 2026

Float Chess News | 24th July 2026

Indian Grandmaster Arjun Erigaisi has officially qualified for the prestigious Sinquefield Cup 2026, joining the final leg of the Grand Chess Tour in St. Louis.

Arjun secured his invitation based on his high Elo rating and consistent performance in the tour events. He is currently ranked among the top 5 players in the world, having crossed the 2780 Elo mark earlier this year.

Known for his highly creative, aggressive playstyle and deep theoretical preparation, Arjun will face a formidable lineup that includes Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, D Gukesh, and Fabiano Caruana.

"It is an honor to play in the Sinquefield Cup," Arjun said. "It is one of the most prestigious events in our sport, and I look forward to testing myself against the very best."
